Probasee

In keeping with Probasee’s role and commitment to ensure access to reading and viewing material thus maintaining the migrant Bengali readers’ connection with their roots, the bangla library has always been an integral part of Probasee. We are proud to hold an impressive collection of classic bangla novels and non-fiction for both the connoisseur and the lay reader.

About a year back new impetus and vigor by a group of committed Probasee members ensured the revival of the library with a vision to lift the library’s profile to the community and beyond. A systematic process has been established for the smooth running of the library.

The library is open to all readers from all organizations, align to bengali culture, language, custom and values and at no cost, the only requirement being assurance that the borrowed items are returned.

The collection has been updated recently with the arrival of a new shipment from India. What is really new, however, is that the library is now able to offer Bengali movies to our members! We feel that this adds a whole new dimension to the library in its role of cultural bondage and cohesion.

Enthusiastic participation prevails to continue the functioning of the library and we hope to expand the ‘new look’ and library services with other related initiatives in the future.
